Gonzaga students could face expulsion for using gun to fend off intruder

I read this article because I was just thankful that the two young men were able to scare away what could have been an attacker. There were no incidents or injuries to either parties, but the university must consider the safety of students who are not on the campus and safeguarded by gates and key carded entrances. I think it is unfortunate the students maybe expelled for their proactive action, although this could have ended in a very serious matter. I think the university should consider the outcome and what could have happened while taking precautions to better secure apartments that are not on campus. I do not believe the boys should be expelled.

  1. Hi Jovita,

I agree with you in that the boys should not be expelled in this situation. I do think some sort of punishment should take place because they did have the weapons even though they weren't supposed to such as a fine or ticket. However they weren't using the weapons for anything other than self defense. The university should definitely look at the outcome then decide an appropriate ruling. Thanks for sharing! - Chris
