I thought this would be a great article for my followers to read because it provides ways to stay positive when stressed out in the school environment. There have been times when I didn't choose my battles wisely and also times when I knew to shut up. If I only understood it this way then because reacting to stress in the moment only causes more stress. Staying positive as a teacher is difficult to do, but all we can do is figure out the ways in which to remain supportive of those in need and our parents and teachers.
Thanks for sharing! I think we can all relate with everything discussed in this article. At times is is pretty hard to stay positive, especially in the state of Michigan right now. In the past, I have found myself getting sucked into that negative frame of mind. However, in recent years, I have tried to stay as positive as possible. Many of the tips I have used, but I am always on the lookout for new ways to stay positive. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this reminder to stay positive, Jovita. I think we, as teachers, should model the attitudes we want our students to embody. A lot of times this involves taking our personal opinions and putting them aside and being 'the adult' even if others aren't doing the same.

I also enjoyed reading this article. Since I have been out of the classroom teaching full time these past 4 years and am now just back...I can see the changes in attitude among some teachers. It is very important to find what you love about teaching and education and focus on that, and stay away from the negativity that just wants to spread. I agree with Sam...we need to model the attitude we want our students to embody...no matter what we may personally think or believe.
